We’re currently at arguably the most exciting time of the year! That is unless you have a strong inner Grinch BUT you can’t deny there is a certain buzz at Christmas that’s just unbeatable. The shops, restaurants and bars are laden with decorations and the streets lit up with beautiful festive lighting. Our favourite Christmas songs are blasting out from every speaker imaginable, and yes it is slightly painful hearing ‘I wish it could be Christmas everyday’ for the 10,000th time, you have to embrace the season.
Whilst Christmas is a real mood booster, the January comedown can hit you like no other. As you delve in for the last handful of twiglets, and polish off the after eight’s over an episode of The Royle Family it can be over before you know it. Suddenly the Christmas TV has disappeared, and it’s time to set the dreaded alarm and say hello to the real world again. The festive bubble has burst, and it can be quite an upsetting time. Can’t we just re-live it all over again? In order to save yourself from post-Christmas blues and sobbing over reduced mince pies, why not book in a getaway for January to ease yourself back into that pesky thing called adult life. You’ll have something to look forward to and January will *hopefully* not feel so blue.
A countryside retreat is the perfect option for putting your feet up (yes, again) and enjoying a little pampering to get you raring for the new year ahead. So for the perfect pick-me-up and to get 2017 off to the best start, check out these relaxing UK based retreats for the relaxing break you’ll definitely deserve…
