Thrill Level: Mild

Thrill Factors: Dark ride, Scary characters

Disneyland’s Alice in Wonderland takes riders on an enchanted ride through scenes from the 1951 classic. The thrill factor from this ride largely comes from the fact that Alice in Wonderland is inherently bizarre and even borderline nightmarish. Fortunately, the ride is short and meant for young children.

Thrill Level: Mild

Thrill Factors: Small drops

Although this attraction looks a bit intimidating, the actual ride isn’t nearly so terrifying. Riders float up and down on this 40 ft tall parachute ride at Disneyland. The ride gives you a great view of the park at the top, so don’t shut your eyes!

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is one of the most popular roller coasters in the park. Hop aboard a runaway mine train and race through an abandoned gold mining town. The speed is moderate, to accommodate younger riders, but many guests recommend sitting in the back if you want more of a thrill.

Snow White’s Scary Adventures

Thrill Level: Medium

Thrill Factors: Dark ride, Scary characters & effects

While more of a scare than a thrill, the dark rides in Fantasyland don’t mess around. Snow White’s Scary Adventures might very well take the cake (or is it pie?) for scariest ride at Disneyland. The ride is from Snow White’s perspective as she attempts to flee the terrifying wrath of the evil Queen. Warn your kids before you ride, so you don’t have a Grumpy on your hands afterwards.
